On the Second Day of Christmas...

...I posted crappy colored pencil art I did for some Christmas cards on the internet.

And an Iron Batgirl with an iron and a pear tree.

Merry Christmas.

The Best Things in Life Really Do

A gift to my college buddies.

Today is like Vincent Price's birthday or something, right?

Without further ado:
HORROR!
It's a... I dunno, a pumpkin-headed ghost?

TERROR!
Death wants to hug you... but he has no arms!

FEAR!
Yo, Frankie! How you doin'?

And yes, I am well aware that Frankenstein was the scientist, not the monster. Stop yelling at your computer.

ARCHITECTURE!
The historic Vampire State Building.

Happy Halloween.

Storyboards Part 2

Here are the storyboards for "Santa Claus Begins" a sketch written by Matt Wassung (with a little help from me) for his UCB sketch class.

The sketch is a spoof of the classic Rankin-Bass TV movie Santa Claus is Comin' to Town, Batman Begins and the "gritty reboot" trend in Hollywood.

This was the first script I storyboarded for my portfolio for Blue Sky, and probably my favorite out of the bunch.

Storyboards Part 1

I applied for a storyboarding job at Blue Sky Studios a few months ago.

I just found out I didn't get the job, so I figured I'd post the boards I made for the portfolio I sent them.

First up, Brighams and Higgins:

Next time: Matt Wassung's Santa Claus Begins

BRIGHAMS AND HIGGINS!

Four years ago my dear (and occasionally bearded) friend, Bryant Naro, created two lovable RIAA agents- Brighams and Higgins.

Since then I have been trying to get the ball rolling on a sequel featuring a cyborg version of Brighams.

I even made a poster for it, based on this one sheet from Terminator 2.

Eh? You like?

A few weeks ago another dear (and never bearded) friend, Adam Wilkins (Brighams) asked me to create a cartoon version of this picture:
And so I did:
Perhaps Brighams and Higgins will live on as a comic book, or an overly violent Saturday morning cartoon.

Batman and Pals

I imagine that if Bruce's parents had never been killed Batman may have manifested as a character Bruce pretended to be when he was a kid.

As for Robin- if the Waynes never died then I guess they could have had another kid, so here's little Richard Wayne in his Robin onesie. And, of course, Bruce has got to have a dog, so here's Ace the Bathound (Batpup?) to round out the group.

Then Alfred put them all in the Batvan and took them to Gotham Central Park.

In hindsight, after making everyone younger, I probably should have given Alfred a full head of hair... Oh well, sorry Al.

And here's a sepia tone "photograph" of the group... because apparently Bruce was a kid in the 1800's.

Na na na na na na na na Fish-Maaaaaan!

Young Andrew Maris was but a humble fisherman when he accidently ate a radioactive fish. Instead of getting cancer or food poisoning he grew scales, fins and gills.

And thus, Fish-Man, who's sort of an awkward reverse mermaid guy, was born!

Apparently he does all right with the ladies...

Happy Vernal Equinox

Haven't posted anything in a long time... Been busy trying to find a job. Having failed at that, here's some art.

Who likes to color?!

Here are some coloring sheets I made for the Simsbury Enrichment and Extended Day program... The subjects were suggested by the children, so don't ask me why there is a camel in a tutu on a mountain.

Go ahead, print one out and color it in...
